MotoGP’s 2027 rider line-up is now complete after Honda confirmed Diogo Moreira’s move from LCR to its factory squad on 20 October. The 22-seat grid will feature 17 riders changing teams, and every one of the 11 teams will have at least one new face. Pecco Bagnaia is heading to Aprilia, Pedro Acosta will replace him at Ducati, and Fabio Quartararo is leaving Yamaha for Honda. The reshuffle coincides with a technical reset that will change how the bikes are built and raced. Teams must quickly assess rider feedback and development priorities before the opening round.

MotoGP: Aprilia and Trackhouse
Bagnaia has signed with Aprilia until 2030 and will partner Marco Bezzecchi, who has agreed to a multi-year extension. Trackhouse will keep Raul Fernandez through 2028 and bring in Enea Bastianini from Tech3 KTM on a deal running to the same year.
MotoGP: Ducati, Gresini and VR46
Ducati’s factory team will pair Marc Marquez with Acosta, whose KTM departure opens a new chapter for both riders. Their contracts run until 2028. Gresini has recruited Joan Mir from Honda and promoted Moto2 rider Dani Holgado, replacing both members of its current line-up. VR46 will field Fermin Aldeguer alongside Nicolo Bulega, who arrives from World Superbike on a 2027 contract with an option for another season. Aldeguer is contracted until 2028.
MotoGP: Honda and LCR
Quartararo will join Moreira in Honda’s factory garage, with both signed through 2028. Moreira steps up from LCR after one MotoGP season. LCR’s pairing will be Johann Zarco and David Alonso. Zarco is contracted through 2027, while Alonso moves up from Moto2 on a multi-year deal. The Colombian won the 2024 Moto3 title and is sixth in the 2026 Moto2 standings.
MotoGP: KTM and Tech3
KTM has changed both factory seats, signing Fabio Di Giannantonio from VR46 and Alex Marquez from Gresini on multi-year agreements. Brad Binder is leaving MotoGP for World Superbike, while Acosta joins Ducati. Tech3 will run Luca Marini, arriving from Honda, and Moto2 graduate Senna Agius. Bastianini moves to Trackhouse and Maverick Vinales will leave the premier class.
MotoGP: Yamaha and Pramac
Yamaha’s factory riders will be Jorge Martin, arriving from Aprilia, and Ai Ogura, who leaves Trackhouse. Both are signed until 2028. Quartararo departs for Honda, and Alex Rins will exit MotoGP. Pramac retains Toprak Razgatlioglu through 2027 and promotes Izan Guevara from Moto2. Jack Miller is leaving the team for Yamaha’s World Superbike programme.

New rules reshape MotoGP
The 2027 MotoGP season brings 850cc engines, reduced aerodynamic devices and a ban on ride-height and holeshot systems. Riders will also switch to Pirelli tyres, while teams must use fully sustainable fuel. The changes mean the new grid must adapt to different machinery, not simply new teammates. The 2027 MotoGP campaign will test how quickly teams adjust. With 17 moves across the paddock, the opening races should offer the first clear indication of which combinations have settled quickest. The rules could alter the balance between manufacturers and reward teams that respond quickly.
