MotoGP’s title race moves to the Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysia Grand Prix, the 19th round of the 2026 season, from 30 October to 1 November. Marc Marquez arrives with a 10-point advantage over Jorge Martin after winning the Sprint at Phillip Island. Martin faces a demanding return after fracturing his wrist in Australia. He has been cleared to ride in Friday’s opening practice, but his condition will remain a talking point as the weekend unfolds. The margin between the leading pair is small enough to keep the championship fight alive, and Sepang could give either rider a timely boost as the season reaches its closing stages.

Marquez has the advantage, but it is far from decisive. A strong result at Sepang would help him protect his position, though the Ducati rider cannot afford to treat the weekend as a formality. Martin needs points to close the gap, yet his fitness may determine how aggressively he can approach the race. The circuit also brings a manufacturer storyline. Ducati has won the last four Malaysian Grands Prix, including Alex Marquez’s victory for Gresini Racing in 2025. Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini have also won at Sepang in recent seasons. Marc Marquez last won the Malaysian GP in 2018. Aprilia, by contrast, is still seeking its first premier-class podium at the venue. That record gives the team another challenge, especially if Martin is not at full strength.

Malaysia Grand Prix 2026: Where to Watch in India?
Indian viewers can watch the Malaysia Grand Prix live on FanCode through its app and website. The platform has listed the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2026, with separate event listings for Friday, Saturday and race day. Fans can check the event page for session coverage, streaming access and broadcast updates. The Sprint could offer an early indication of how the title contenders are coping, but the Grand Prix carries the bigger points haul. Marquez will want to leave Malaysia with his lead intact, while Martin needs a competitive return. His wrist may shape the weekend as much as the pace of the Aprilia. Sepang has favoured Ducati, but past results cannot settle this year’s contest. The Malaysia Grand Prix arrives with a close title fight, a rider returning from injury and little room for either contender to relax.
