The FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 championships will take on new venues and familiar circuits in 2027, with both junior categories continuing to race alongside Formula 1 next season. Formula 2 will contest 14 rounds across the campaign, including visits to Mexico City and Istanbul, while Formula 3 will compete at 10 events. The 2027 F2 season will begin in March with back-to-back opening rounds in Bahrain and Jeddah. The championship then travels to Melbourne in April before reaching Montreal in May. Monaco follows in June, after which F2 heads to Silverstone and Spielberg for consecutive rounds. The championship resumes after the summer break at Monza before moving to Madrid.

September brings another change to the schedule, with F2 set to race in Azerbaijan as the sole support category for Formula 1 at that event. Istanbul then hosts both F2 and F3, with the Turkish venue becoming a new addition to the F2 calendar. F2 will make its first visit to Mexico City in late October before completing its 14-round season in the Middle East. Qatar and Abu Dhabi will host the final two rounds of the campaign.

FIA Formula 3 Expands its Calendar

Formula 3 will race at 10 Formula 1 weekends in 2027. Its season follows a similar early route to F2, starting in Bahrain and Jeddah in March before heading to Melbourne and Montreal. The championship will then visit Monaco, Silverstone and Spielberg in June and July. Monza and Madrid follow after the summer break. Istanbul will host the final F3 round of the year, giving the championship a new venue for its season finale. The series will also visit Jeddah and Montreal for the first time in 2027.

F2 targets a Wider Global Footprint

FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said the addition of Istanbul and Mexico City has been planned without adding freight costs to teams. The championship will cover those costs as part of its expansion to new territories. The 2027 F2 calendar will span four continents and include a mix of established circuits and new venues. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the championship remains an important step for drivers targeting a move into F1.
